Waimarie: Hamilton East Community House

A community house is a people-friendly community facility usually based in a central, residential part of the community. Everyone is welcome at a community house. Being open, accessible, affordable and supportive to the community is a very important Kaupapa of a community house. Waimarie: Hamilton East Community House has been open since the end of 2001 and is now a humming Community House for the Hamilton East area.

The community house is governed by a committee called SEKCA (South East Kirikiriroa Community Association Inc.). This is a group of local people who volunteer their time to help govern Waimarie. We need people with an interest in the community. Specific skills needed are accounting, financial, policy formulation or an interest in the local community. The meetings are held once a month. If you are interested in joining the Committee please phone the house for more details.
